Rhetta Shead, president of the Arapahoe County Cultural Council, said they had a little more to work with than last year due to leftover money. Arapahoe County owns and manages 5,300 acres, eight parks, four trails, five open spaces, 14 miles of trails, the historic 17 Mile House Farm Park, and the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and Events Center.
The Arapahoe County Cultural Council met weekly from March 14 to May 12 to review and evaluate 81 of the 84 grant applications that met the requirements. In total, 78 Arapahoe County organizations or organizations whose audience includes county residents were allocated money. Arapahoe County has professional economic development organizations and offers some of the lowest taxes and rates in the region. Residents of Arapahoe County can take advantage of all these benefits and enjoy a wide variety of cultural activities.
